There are two men who I’ve always been incredibly envious of – James Bond and Batman.  The two of them had the most amazing watches, which could apparently tell time, operate as a telephone/walkie talkie, and also give them information from… central headquarters?

Prada has stepped up to plate and delivered it’s version of the 007 timepiece – the LG Prada Link Bluetooth Watch.  Try not to look confused. This watch connects to your phone (an LG phone) via Bluetooth. It displays information like caller id, text messages, and other alarms.  Oh, and it tells time.   For less than $300, you could try it out.  And then let me know how it goes.

Bvlgari-Bvlgari Mini Monday, Aug 10 2009

Alright, I confess.

I don’t like Bvulgari as a watch provider. It’s not that the materials aren’t quality, or that the price isn’t plum.

It’s the styling.  Though some may admire the tough, streamlined exterior, there’s just something about the Bvlgari line that is, well, mannish. Watches serve as a highlight, an accent piece, and a subtle status clue.  Bvlgari, although it has the name recognition, doesn’t have the graceful lines of Cartier, or the stylish feel of Dior.  Bvlgari, for the record, is an Italian brand.  Which makes sense, because their watches make me think of Italian men with rioting chest hair, reeking of revolting cologne….but I digress.

For the diehard Bvlgari fans (whoever you are), I combed through the inventory and picked out a favorite. It was pretty difficult. In fact, it was well nigh impossible, because most of the time I was thinking  “OMFG, so ugly.”   But anyway, here it is…

For a paltry $2,950 this passable watch can be yours.  It’s the best looking of all of Bvlgari’s atrocities.  The Bvlgari-Bvlgari Mini features 18k white gold, swiss movement, black leather band, and is water resistant (up to 30 meters/100 feet). And it has such an inventive name too.  It retails at a jaw dropping $5,900 , and if you’d pay that for this watch, you’re a fool.
